Ray Roc

 

Songwriter, producer, remixer, and DJ, Ray Roc has over 15 years of history in the music industry. Born Ray Checo the ‘Roc' moniker stems from his original days of DJ-ing Electro Beaks to his fellow break dancers who would give him props - “Ray you rock!”

 

Ray Roc has a diverse production history. He's gone #1 twice on the Billboard Radio dance chart with his Moniker "The Roc Project". Back in the 90's he had underground house success as "ROC & KATO, ROC & PRESTA, and Black Latin Soul". He's produced 3 platinum selling Latin albums with International Group Proyecto Uno and helped pave the way to the now popular Urbano Latino crossover with such artist like PitBull & Lmfao. BMG Publishing recognized his songwriting abilities and signed him to a world wide publishing deal. He has collaborated with top charting artist and writers who have created hits for superstars like; Celine Dion, Back Street Boys, and Jessica Simpson to name a few. In 2002 he produced and wrote the dance crossover hit single Never (Past Tense) featuring the vocal performance of Australia's Mega Star Tina Arena with remix honers from the #1 DJ in the world Tiesto, the single led to singing with Sony UK & Europe and Tommy Boy (US). The album sprung two #1 radio hit singles, Déjà vu (its hard to believe) and “Never (Past Tense)” breaking onto the billboard top 100.

 

Ray Roc has always had an ear for music he has contributed his A&R skills to an array of labels such as his own Digital Dungeon in the 90's and current ROCit Records with partner Gabe Ramos who is also a DJ / Producer. With his successful 5 year residency at Webster Hall, he has been hired to manage the dance division of Webster Hall Records. The focus with his own label ROCit and Webster Hall Records is to embrace the new digital world and develop a NY base for quality dance music that can reach world wide.

 

Ray Roc has produced & remixed major artist like Cher, Janet Jackson, Cassie, Beenie Man, and Alicia Keys to name a few. He's diversity has led to collaborating with artist such as; Dance Diva Kristine W, Latin Singer/Rapper Magic Juan and the mega hit carton The Brats "Rock Angels". Currently he is working on a new album and remixing for Randy Jackson (of American Ideal fame). American Ideal Winner Kimberly Lucke new single "Strobelight" has been touched by Ray Roc with partner Gabe Ramos . The mix hit the billboard Dance Chart and was also added to U.S. Radio and compilations. Still to come are mixes for Kaci Battaglia Ft. Ludacris "Body Shots" and David Guetta's Singer Chris Willis new Solo Single "LOUDER (Put Your Hands Up)" and many more.

 

Ray Roc currently resides in New York as one of the resident DJ at the Famous Webster Hall nightclub. He has ROCed clubs in the famous Islands of Spain - Ibiza and Palma de Mallorka, but it doesn't stop there he has graced the deck all over the world including the UK, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, South America, Germany, Turkey and Russia.

 

The future for Ray Roc will never be predictable since he is always challenging himself to be ahead of the curve in the Dance and Electronic world. "I always have my ears on what's going on in the underground as well as the mainstream which allows me to fuse my latin roots and urban influences to my writing and productions. I want my music to last a lifetime, whether Im producing underground, mainstream or latin."
