Marc MacRowland
Marc MacRowland (MMR) started spinning records at the age of 16. He practiced with different styles of music but got really into housemusic after a few years. His professional career all started when he entered a DJ contest at the famous Nighttown in Rotterdam. The jury consisted of oa. Ferry Corsten and Michel the Hey. They decided he was the best of all the contesters. The price was to play at the Fast Forward Dance Parade (the Dutch Loveparade, with 500.000 visitors). This was a great experience and the house DJ Marc MacRowland was born and ready for take of. Soon he got his first residency at club Ministry of Dance in Rotterdam. His career soon took of with gigs all over the country.
Besides being a very talented dj, Marc MacRowland is also a very talented producer. His first record “Squeeze me / Sneak'r” released on Selektiv, a sublabel of Midtown Records, was a great success. His second track 'Marc MacRowland & Robbie Taylor - Back in time was released on Big Boss records and directly gets a lot of support from the Dutch top dj’s. Marc MacRowland – People was released on Samsobeats a big respected dancelabel of Sidney Samson and Gregor Salto and gets massive support. After these first releases new releases following up quickly for example Black Bamboo releasesd on Harwell’s label Slized (Also has been remixed by Hardwell) was support by Sander van Doorn and was played by Sander on most of the big “Sensation” events. But the Remix he made of Mas Que nada – Gregor Salto together with his soulmate Robbie Taylor was the summer hit of 2009. Played bij Erick Morillo during his Pacha nights at Ibiza and supported by al the big names in the industry. Their latest remix done for Dj Chus – The Feeling on Stereo Productions (spain) which is one of the major recordlabels in the world was a dream came true. But after this they also released their own track " Paseos" on Stereo Productions! At this moment Marc is spending a lot of time in the studio and some new releases will come up soon including 'State of mind' on the famous Sneakerz Muzik imprint!
Nowadays he plays in all several big and small events and clubnights such as Latin Lovers, I Love Housemusic, Mascarada, Metz on Sunday, Beatloverz, Kapsones, Heart, Samsobeats, Framebusters, Sexy Mother Fucker and Crazy Sexy Cool.
Marc has performed at the following venues: Thalia Lounge, Offcorso, Now & Wow, Club Rex, Cruise Terminal, Jimmy Woo, Supperclub, The Powerzone, VIP-Room, Club Vie, Beachclub Vroeger Bloomingdale, Escape Venue, Club Monza, Beachclub View, Prinses Theater, Brunotti Beachhouse and many more.
Also some festivals are already on his resume: Latin Village, Dutchweek Festival (Val Thorens, France), Amsterdam Dance Event, So Sexy Festival, Sexy Mother Fucker’s Beach Festival, Dance 4 Free, Rotterdam Electronic Music Festival, Save Me Festival, Koninginnedance, Volvo Ocean Race, The 25 year old Oerol Festival on Terschelling.
