Ed Whitty
Irish born and raised DJ/Producer Ed Whitty has spent over half of his life deeply immersed in the depths of European and American club culture. From humble beginnings in his hometown or Carlow Ireland, to his new found home Ft Lauderdale USA. Whitty credits his family environment for beginning and nurturing his love of music for the first years of his life. Constantly being exposed to music from his parents and older brother and sister, opened his mind to music of all genres and styles.
He began playing at local clubs in his hometown of Carlow at the age of 17, earning himself an agent who gave him his start playing across Ireland's Capital City of Dublin and nationwide. He played consistently throughout his college education in Ireland on sponsored club tours by Tia Maria, Corona and Heineken (Passion, Pulse, Seduction, Escape) along with countless solo bookings throughout the country. If the club was big Whitty has played there. While in Wolver Hampton, England studying for his degree in Electronic Media he frequently played the local student club spots and commuted back to Ireland for weekend slots, he honed his skills playing to more multi cultured and diverse crowds. The creative force's that drives Whitty are his performances and human connection between him, his audience and his audience with each other. Whitty will Get you up and keep you up!
His work has given him fondly remembered residencies in Ireland, U.K. and U.S.A. His style is as varied as the clubs he has played, refusing to be pigeon holed Whitty pushes the boundaries of genres and adapts to every room. Through his frequent visits to the states to perform he developed a love for Florida and in March 2004 he moved there permanently to base his operations. He feels that the diversity of people and their cultures challenges him all the more. He now calls south Florida home. Since the move Whitty's career has blossomed. With his productions on the rise along with his high-octane performances Whitty is catching the eyes of the state and beyond. Watch this space...
